I wanted to mention one small, but important issue that I keep seeing when people upload a new PLR product that comes with a sales page.
First though I want to make clear that having a sales page included with a PLR package is excellent! It can save you a lot of time and frustration for those of us who do not like writing sales copy. But make sure to edit the PLR sales page!
Since the sales page will have aspects to it that need to be changed, like your name, the products name, the price, etc… many times the creator of the PLR product will change the font color of the text of those areas to make them stand out for you as the new owner to change.
For example, at the bottom of the sales page it may say YOUR NAME HERE. The creator of the page put that there to make it easy for you to see what needs to be changed. This is a great idea for those that don’t have the time to edit the whole page, but just want to add in their own information.
Here’s my “warning”… please make sure to edit the color to match the rest of the sales page!
I see it too often where the new owner simply enters their name without changing the font color back to black. It’s only pink to get your attention to change, but it’s not meant to stay pink.
Honestly, when I see someone’s name in pink (and usually other aspects of the sales page as well which weren’t changed), I immediately leave the page. To me it says that they could not be bothered to change it and thus are just trying to make a quick buck.
Tip: Spend 15 minutes to read through the whole sales page and edit/update any information that needs to be changed.

What you have mentioned is the absolute minimum for people to change.
The most profitable PLR items I have used always involved changing up the sales letter even though it is not one of my favorite things to do it pays.

A very good point you bring up. Definitely something to keep in mind when working with PLR and a salespage. Make it into your own style. Thanks for the tip.

Seems like an obvious point, but one well worth making. While I haven’t done in on all my PLR projects, I try to add a bonus as well. It takes more work, but since other people have the same PLR material, I want to add some value to my sales page.

Great point. Most sales pages that come with PLR products try to make it as simple as possible to make the changes but can be overlooked especially if you try to rush things. It takes me longer than 15 minutes but I’m getting faster with practice

Joel, good points. Pretty obvious also. It’s good to remind people of the obvious sometimes because to some it may not be so obvious. I’ve never seen anyone’s name in pink, but I have see the pink words.

Definitely some good points to make. I have actually seen a couple of times where it still had the ‘YOUR NAME HERE’ still on the page and more times where the color wasn’t changed.
Also, Mike makes a very good point in that you do need to change the sales page up some to make it unique from everyone else who just goes and uploads the package as is.
Will have a better chance of standing out in the search engines.

I wish there’s a tool were you can just dump in the plr package and completely rebrand it
I would buy it even for a couple of thousands
Its obvious and yet – I have seen this before! Great post Joel and should serve as reminder to a few of us, myself included

Great post, Joel, but I’d take it a step further… The only people who benefit from a stock PLR salespage are traffic experts – they can drive traffic to any page they want. For the majority of people, it’s important to do everything you can to get targeted traffic to your sites, and using the same page everyone else is kills any SEO value to the page. You don’t have to be a great copywriter – just do your keyword research, find the terms you want to target and rewrite the page – it’ll never hurt your income to have better search engine rankings on your salespages than other people selling the same product have!
